The leaves fall from the trees
The seasons so timeless pass
Like nomadic friends
On a journey, that never ends

Like a child I kick
Through dead leaves and sticks
I think of you
Whatever I do

It’s at times like these
I am so sure
The essence of you
Still clings to me

Which is good,
Because I want it too
Each season sings its own memories renewed
Cherished little pieces of me and you

The photo is of two of my favourite things. Whilst having too much of one, I spent a fruitless hour, trying to capture the soul of them both in virtual celluloid. Eventually I gave up and wrote this short sad song/poem instead.

A Short Song of Regret
I’m in a dark place
Won’t someone turn on a light?
Crack open a door
Show me the way, to what I was, once before
I need a friend
To tell a joke or two
To teach me how to laugh
Now I am without you
I need a drink or five
To help me survive
To make me forget
To ease my regret
At all the time
I have spent
Without you
Without you

A strain on stitches

Today I write about my scars

Beneath the moon and all its stars

I’ll write of tears that I’ve cried

My fights, my battle cries

Tomorrow I might not exist

And you’ll forget that  we once kissed

Beneath a moon,, beneath the stars

All those dreams didn’t take us far

I would like to start again

To have at least one more friend

To never take that turn

To show, that even I can learn

For now I’ll hold you in my heart

And hope that the stitches do not part

That I can wash away my shames

And finally get my demons tamed
